Doris P. Shackleford

Shackleford, Doris Pride Schackleford, formerly of the 700 block of N. 35th Street, entered her eternal home on Friday November 27, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband Wills C. Shackleford, one daughter, Wanda D. Shackleford, two sisters, Elsie P. Morgan & Elnora P. Avent, & one brother, William L. Pride. She is survived by three devoted sons, Calvin, Ronald and Felix Shackleford; three grandchildren, Reshonda Roane, & Brian Alexander and Brandon Ronald Shackleford; one sister Laura P. Goode; a host of nieces, nephews among them Christine Clarke and Esther Laurene Quarles and cousins; one daughter in law Cheryl R. Shackleford; and other relatives and friends among them devoted Anne Booker, Laura Holmes, Sterling a special friend from Richmond Public Schools and caretakers, Florence Crittendon and Gayle Stuart. She was a retired teacher of Richmond Public Schools where she taught for over 30 years. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30PM on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 12 noon at 31st Street Baptist Church, 823 N. 31st Street where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Dr. Morris Henderson(pastor) off. Interment Glendale National Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 11:45AM Thursday.
