John Henry Morton Sr.

Morton, Departed this life December 25, 2009. John H. Morton Sr. of Richmond. He is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Jones Morton. He is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Morton Washington and Patrice Arlene Morton; four sons; John Jr., Lawrence, Michael and Alan Morton; 30 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two sisters, Corrine Williams and Annie Mae Roots; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; two daughters-in-law, Hazel and Karen Morton; two sisters-in-law, Zenobia and Bessie Mae Jones; one brother-in-law, Charles L. Jones; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Funeral services will be held Thursday 1PM at Fifth Baptist Church, 1415 W. Cary Street where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. Earl Brown(pastor) off. Interment Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 12:45PM Thursday.
