Black, Departed this life October 6, 2010, Deacon Theodore R. Black Jr. of Richmond. He is preceded in death by one son, Mandel Gray. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Y. Black; one daughter, Helen Day; three sons; Carl Nichols, Theodore R. Black III and Germel Gray; eight grandchildren; one great grandson; four sisters; Mary Washington, Rosa Porter, Francita Jones and Tobitha Black; five brothers; Joseph Ellis, John Wesley, Roy Lee, Vernon Black and Maurice Black; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; one daughter-in-law' Toni Gray; one son-in-law. Gregory O. Day Sr.; four sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law and other relatives and friends, among them Louistine Sherrod. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends from 3 to 4PM Sunday. Funeral services will be held Monday 11AM at Rising Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 2705 Hartman Street where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. Roscoe D. Cooper III(pastor) off. Rev. Lester Frye eulogy. Interment Quantico National Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 10:45AM Monday. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
