James Melvin Athey

Athey, Departed this life October 10, 2010. James Melvin Athey of Goochland(Sandy Hook). He is survived by his wife, Linda Athey; three daughters; Lisa Hamiel, Jane Athey Brown, and Jane Athey; two sons, James Melvin Athey Jr. and James Melvin II; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; his mother, Rosa Athey; five sisters; Irma Mealy, Viola Timberlake, Louise Foster, Alice Wilson, and Annie Anderson; six brothers; Joseph, Floyd, Dr. Bishop Gilbert, Claude, Clarence, and Steve; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; one daughter-in-law, Michelle Athey; one son-in-law, James Brown; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30PM friday. Funeral services will be held Saturday 12 noon at Outreach Ministries 4091 Cedar Plank Road(Sandy Hook) where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Bishop Gilbert Athey off. Interment church cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 11:45AM Saturday.
