Essie Mae Knight Hatcher

Hatcher, Departed this life October 31, 2010. Mrs. Essie K. Hatcher of Richmond. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie L. Hatcher Jr. She is survived by three sisters; Shirley Foster, Dorothy Townsell, and Virginia Williams; one brother, Robert Knight Jr.; two aunts, Velma Richardson and Magnolia Bynum; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; her step mother, Sarah Knight; one step sister, Kathy Johnson; one step brother, Robert Eley Jr.; three sisters- in-law; Annie H. Tyree, Joyce H. Grantham and Bernice Knight; two brothers-in-law, O. Cornelious Townsell and Benjamin F. Hatcher Sr. and other relatives and friends, among them her god daughter, Yewande Lewis. Remains rest at Joseph Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Funeral services will be held Friday 12 noon at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 1902 Rosewood Avenue where the family will receive friends from 11AM to hour of funeral. Rev. William B. Wiggins II(pastor) off. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.
