Walker, Departed this life November 27, 2010. Gordon A. Walker Jr. of Richmond. He was a retired Richmond City Police Officer. He is survived by two daughters Tracy McCowan and Tasha Brown; one son Gordon A. Walker III; fourteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one sister Thomasina Hicks; one brother Dana Walker; one aunt Evelyn Anderson; two uncles Rudolph and Harry Walker; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; one son in law; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30PM Friday. Funeral services will be held Saturday 11AM at Fifth Baptist Church, 1415 W. Cary Street where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. Ricardo Brown(pastor) off. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 10:45AM Saturday. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 2601 Willard Road, Unit 103; Richmond, Virginia 23294 or to the Fifth Baptist Church Building Fund.
