Brenda Joyce Edwards

Brenda Gardner Edwards, 67, departed this life on Friday, August 11, 2023. She is proceeded in death by her late husband, Francis Edwards.

Born in North Carolina on August 12, 1955 to the late Laura Belle Gardner and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Brenda was an affectionate person who was the life of the party. 

Brenda was a graduate of Maggie Walker High School, class of 1973, and she worked for more than 20 years in the field of nursing.

Brenda volunteered at Moore Street Missionary Baptist Church, where she has been a devoted member since childhood.

Brenda loved her family, including her three sons; brother; and two beautiful dogs, Sugar Pie & Scooby Doo. She enjoyed relaxing at home, listening to music, and being in the company of friends & family. 

Brenda is survived by her three sons, Ramon Gardner, Bryant Edwards, and Brandon Edwards; brother, Dale Gardner (Anita); nieces, Danielle Barnes (Joseph), Dana Gardner, Almaz Gardner, and Janae Gardner; great nieces, D’A’jah Gardner, A’Mya Gardner, Ju’Niyah Jenkins, and Taylor Barnes; great nephew, Da’Jon Barnes; aunt, Louise Gardner; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Services will be held at Moore Street Missionary Baptist Church on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 11:00am.
