Cecelia Inez Booth Cooper, a resident of Richmond, VA, an Angel among us to many, returned home to her Heavenly Father. A native of Norfolk, VA, Cecelia Booth Cooper was the daughter of the late James Alston Booth, Sr. and Mildred Epps Booth. She was the first of four children born from their union. Cecelia was predeceased by her two brothers, James Alston Booth, Jr. and Imani Ali.
Cecelia was a graduate of Norfolk Catholic High School and the Norfolk Division of Virginia State College (Norfolk State University) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts. She was a retired Art Teacher from Richmond Public Schools after more than 30 years of service. Cecelia loved fine art and collected many pieces by local artists. She had a particular fondness for ceramics. A pet lover, Cecelia was known for her love of Vizslas. Cecelia will be most remembered for her generous spirit. She was always willing to share with others without any expectation of receiving anything in return. Cecelia was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and St. Gertrude Catholic Church.
Cecelia’s memory will be cherished by her husband of 53 years, and the love of her life, Eddie Cooper of Richmond, VA; her sister, Christine A. Booth of Norfolk, VA and a host of relatives and friends. There will be no memorial service.
