Dr. Evelyn Davis

Departed this life December 26th, 2023. Dr. Evelyn Lorraine Davis, age 77, of Richmond. She was a retired English professor. She taught at Virginia Union University for nine years and Hampton University for four years. 

    She is survived by one daughter, Timberlyn Simpson(Saleh); two grandchildren, Evan Simpson and Damiana Brookins(Dawin);  one great granddaughter, Nova Martinez; one sister, Lula “Inez” Miller(Richard); one brother, Lafayette Davis Jr.(Stephanie); a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; sisters- in- law, Mildred Davis and Carletha Davis; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where Dr. Davis can be viewed Thursday from 10AM to 8PM and her funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30PM. Interment private. Family and friends assemble at the funeral home 1:15PM Friday.
