Dr. Gloria Taylor

Went to be with the Lord January 25th, 2023. Dr. Gloria Taylor, age 87, of Richmond. She was a retired director of Christian Education at the School of Theology at Virginia Union University. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Taylor. She is survived by her daughter, Rosalynn T. Lucas; three grandchildren, Mara LaVerne(Kenneth), Mya Camille(Mason) and Allen Christopher Lucas; one nephew, Derek Carter; a host of cousins among them Bernice Duncan, Laura Kemp and Harry Duncan; and other relative and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where Dr. Taylor can be viewed Wednesday between 10AM to  8PM. Funeral services will be held 11AM Thursday at Fifth Baptist Church, 1415 W. Cary Street where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. Earl Brown(pastor) off. Interment Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Family and friends assemble at the church 10:45AM Thursday. Fifth Baptist Church requires proof of vaccination and a mask upon entrance.
