Dwayne Sheldon Jones, Sr. Departed this life on October 22, 2021, at age 64. He was born June 21, 1957, in Henrico, Virginia to Granville Irvin Jones, Jr. and Julia Maxine Jones who both preceded him in death. He was the oldest of five children and he graduated from Hermitage High School in 1975. On December 29, 1979, he married his loving wife of 42 ½ years Denise Lewis Jones who he preceded in death. They would later share two beautiful devoted daughters and one son. Dwayne started working as an Asphalt Construction Crew leader at the age of 18 and did so for over 30 years. Dwayne was a very diligent worker and did an outstanding job taking care of his family. He was an intelligent man who instilled the importance of hard work but most importantly always keeping your faith in God first in life. In 2009, he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis an unpredictable disabling disease of the brain and central nervous system which eventually caused him to lose his ability to walk. He fought a very long courageous battle with this challenging illness up until his passing. Dwayne kept a positive attitude and always enjoyed reading the bible and watching his favorite church The Israel of God. He loved spending time with his family and eating his favorite dessert, cherry pie! One of his favorite past times was watching football and basketball where he would watch his favorite teams play the L.A. Lakers and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved listening to music especially his 70’s oldies and enjoyed watching movies. Dwayne had an easygoing personality and got along with anybody he met. He would always help anyone in need in any way he could. He also loved animals and didn’t mind bringing many pets into the family over the years. He leaves to cherish precious memories of one son Dwayne S. Jones, Jr.; two daughters Larita D. Jones and Erica Threadgill; three grandsons Jonah Threadgill, Ezra Threadgill and Chalen D. Burns; a caring and devoted caregiver-his son in law Emmanuelle Threadgill; two sisters Wanda Bland, and Renee Munford (Michael), two brothers Lyndon Jones (Linda) and Granville I. Jones III (Donna); a special uncle Lewis A. Butler; mother-in-law Bernice Henley; two sisters-in-law Loreal Johnson and Fran Thomas; two brothers-in-law Ray (Dawn) and Lamont Henley and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
