Departed this life May 7th, 2024. Mrs. Emily Ponton, age 104, of Norfolk. She is survived by one son, Ernest Ponton(Grace); three grandchildren, Michelle Baskerville(Herman), Ernest Jr. and Allee(Demetria) Ponton; seven great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue, Richmond, Virginia where Mrs. Ponton can be viewed Thursday May 16th from 10AM to 8PM. Funeral mass will be 11 AM Friday, May 17th, at the Basilica of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception, 232 Chapel Street Norfolk, where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Family and friends assemble at the church 10:45AM Friday
