******DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER, FUNERAL SERVICES POSTPONED TO THURSDAY JANUARY 11******Departed this life December 27, 2017. Mrs. Jacqueline Ashford, age 76, of Richmond. She retired from Richmond Schools after teaching for 30 years. She was a Past Matron of Hannah Chapter #26(OES-PHA).She is preceded in death by her husband, Haywood L. Ashford. She is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Michelle Ashford; one son, Haywood M. Ashford; three grandchildren; one great granddaughter; a host of cousins; and other relatives and friends among them a god son, Van Graves. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 PM Wednesday. Funeral services will be held Thursday January 11, 12 noon at First Baptist Church, 1501 Decatur Street where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Dr. Dwight Jones(pastor) off. Interment Maury Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 11:45AM Thursday.
