Departed this life December 20, 2017. Johnie Reives Sr., age 84, of Richmond. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Reives; one daughter, Melody Y. Reives; one son, Johnie Reives II(Cecilia); two grandchildren, Valerie Yvette Reives and Darren Nelson Phillips II; two brothers, Robert Reives(Jarrett) and Justice Reives; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; sisters-in-law, Josephine Bradley, Mary Floyd and Betty Thornton; brothers -in-law, Alexander(Theodora), Clifton, Alvin(Gwendolyn), John Hurley(Catherine), Melvin, Mack(Wanda) and Tony(Patricia) Parker and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11AM at Third Street Bethel A.M.E. Church, 614 N. Third Street where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. Reuben Boyd(pastor) off. Interment in Mt. Zion A.M.E. Zion Church Cemetery in Mt. Gilead North Carolina. Family and friends assemble at the church, Third Street Bethel 10:45AM Tuesday
