Rev. Julia Inez Hopkins

age 83, of Richmond, departed this life March 31, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Hopkins Sr.; and one son, Melvin L.  Hopkins. She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Williams (Thomas Sr.); three sons, Robert Jr. (Charlene), Rodney and William (Tracy) Hopkins; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; one devoted sister, Lillian Harris; two brothers, Palmer Anderson Sr. (Ruth) and Preston Anderson; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins among them loving Constance Moore of Philadelphia, PA; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Valentine; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue, where the family will receive friends Wednesday, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m., at Pilgrim Journey Baptist Church, 7204 Bethlehem Road, where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Dr. Angelo Chatmon, pastor, officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 10:45 a.m. Thursday.
