Louise Pitchford Howard

Departed this life March 13, 2019.  Mrs. Louise Pitchford Howard, age 95, formerly of Byron Street.  She was a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Mary C. Stewart Chapter #128 Order of Eastern Star (Prince Hall Affiliation).  She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie H. G. Howard, Sr., and son, Willie H. G. Howard, Jr. (Marian); step-father, Percy Pitchford, mother, Lucinda Pitchford Cousar; and her sister, Bessie Pitchford.  Louise is survived by three devoted children, Sandra H. Wilson (William, Jr), Rev. Sharon H. Broaddus (Edward, Sr.) and Wyndell M. Howard (the late Frances); 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Johnie Lee Taylor (the late Earnest, Sr.), Sylvia Johnson (the late Booker T.); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; and other relatives and friends.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Louise P. Howard Scholarship Fund, c/o Third Street Bethel A. M. E. Church, 614 N. Third Street, Richmond, VA 23219.  Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Ave.  Funeral services will be held 12:30PM on Tuesday, March 19, at Third Street Bethel A.M.E. Church, 614 N. Third Street where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time.  Rev.  Reuben Boyd(pastor) off.  Interment Mt.  Calvary Cemetery.  Family and friends assemble at the church 12:15PM Tuesday.
