Margaret Alease Samuels Hicks

Departed this life December 18th, 2023. Mrs. Margaret Alease Samuels Hicks, age 93, of Richmond. She is preceded in death by her husband Leon Hicks Sr. and one son Julius Hicks. She is survived by four daughters Margaret Connor, Brenda Hicks, Yolanda Barber (Eddie) and Crystal Reid (Kevin); three sons Leon Jr., Carl Wendell and Robert (Sheila) Hicks; seventeen grandchildren; a host of great and great great grandchildren; one sister Jessie Batchelor; one brother Carl Samuels; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; one sister in law Gloria Turner; two brothers in law Major Hicks Sr. (Gloria) and Douglas Hicks (Katrina);  and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where Mrs. Hicks can be viewed Wednesday December 27th from 10AM to 8PM. Funeral services will be held 11AM Thursday December 28th at Hood Temple AME Zion 16 W. Clay Street. Dr. Lorenza Meekins (pastor) officiating. Elder Kevin W. McGill eulogy. Internment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Famiy and friends assemble at the church 10:45AM Thursday December 28th.
