Noah Phillips, Jr. was born on January 25, 1942 in Norfolk, VA to Jaconyer (Bryant) and Noah Phillips, Sr. Noah completed his primary and secondary education in Philadelphia, PA before serving in the United States Military from 1960-1964. He later attended Temple University.
A seeker of esoteric knowledge, Noah was a philosopher, spiritualist, and traveler. On a whim, Noah would pack up his backpack and travel across the country—the world, even—to sit at the feet to learn from and to challenge his current guru of interest. Noah was a walking encyclopedia and he loved dazzling people with his unlimited knowledge on just about every subject.
Noah also loved to study the human body and had a keen interest in understanding its miraculous nature. He was a competitive marathon runner during his prime.
Noah worked a variety of jobs with his last job being at UPS. But he loved none of his jobs like the time that he spent in the United States Army in Texas, Germany, and Amsterdam.
Believed to be preceded in death by his brother, Clarence Phillips, Noah leaves to cherish his memory: sister, Corrine McClaine; nephews, Raponyer, Marcus, and Scott (Angela) McClaine; niece, Arvat McClaine (Harry Watkins); great nieces and nephews; a great-great nephew and niece; and a host of friends and loved ones in Philadelphia, among them Ravyn Ellis, Javon Ellis, Bruce Young, Venia Hill, and Barbara Hall.
