Richard Edward Coles Sr.

Richard E Coles attended Henrico Public Schools. He dedicated 30 years of service to the City of Richmond, working in The Department of Public Works, where he so earnestly served, that people called him a “human map”. Mr. Richard E Coles was preceded in death by his daughter, Wanda Coles. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his loving wife, Sally Coles; two sons, Richard E Coles Jr. and Harold Coles; five daughters, Marian Evans, Lorraine Brockenbrough, Renee Coles, Dianne Coles and Janet Coles; 28 grandchildren; 70 great grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren. Mr. Coles will forever be remembered for his profound impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Remains rest at the Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue, where Mr. Coles can be viewed on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 10:00am - 8:00pm, and where funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, on Thursday, April 10, 2025. Interment, Riverview. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Thursday at 12:45pm.
