Roberta Squire Hughes

Roberta Squire Hughes, loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, departed this life on March 5th, 2023, but fond memories will live on in the hearts of those she cherished. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred L. Hughes, her parents, Joe A. Squire and Gussie Miles Squire; her sister, Margaret W. Goodall and brothers, Joe H. Squire and Johnnie L. Squire. She leaves to rejoice in her memory three daughters, Sabrina D. Squire, Velma E.Hughes and Cynthia L. Hughes; one son, Michael E. Hughes(Danita);  grandchildren, Monique Williams, Christina Clarke, Marcel Hughes, Maya Hughes, Melanie Hughes, Malcolm Hughes and stepson, Arthur Barnett; great-grandchildren;   sister, Mary McQueen, brothers, Tommie C. Squire and James Squire; aunt, Viola Roberts; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; cousins; sisters- in- law, Delores Squire, Marion Squire and Muriel Burrell;  and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where Mrs. Hughes can be viewed Friday, March 17th from 10AM to 8PM and where funeral services will be held Saturday, March 18th at 12 noon. Dr. Stephen Hewlett off. Interment Roselawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends assemble at the chapel 11:45AM Saturday. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Lung Association.
