Samuel Roosevelt Whitley

Samuel R. Whitley Sr.  “Sam” was called home to rest on February 14, 2024. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Whitley and his two children, Samuel Whitley Jr. and Jacqueline Whitley- Renteria. Sam is also survived by his grandchildren (whom he loved to spend time with), his stepchildren, and many other family members who loved him dearly. Sam retired as a state employee after working there for many years. He loved to listen to his oldies but goodies music, dance, sit on the porch, play cards, and go fishing. He will be deeply missed. We will have a memorial service for Sam on March 2, 2024, at 3:30pm. The memorial service will be located at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, located at 2011 Grayland Ave, Richmond, VA 23220.
