Shay Joshua Dennis was born March 4, 1994, in Richmond, Virginia to his mother Felecia Washington and the late Shay T. Dennis. He attended and graduated with honors from Highland Springs High School located in Henrico County. He was a proud member of the Highland Springs football team. His first love was his mother, second love was his little brother Justin and his third love was football. At an early age he professed his faith in Jesus Christ and joined St. Paul’s Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia. He was employed by Pepsi as a Commercial Driver following in his PaPa’s footsteps. Shay loved to read and had a passion for writing poetry with hopes of becoming a published author someday.
He quietly departed this life Saturday, February 26, 2022. He was preceded in death by his father Shay T. Dennis and his “Papa” Coley Wiggins, Jr.
His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his mother, Felecia Washington & stepdad, John Washington, brothers: Justin Dennis of Woodbridge, VA, Shaphan Dennis & Tyler Caldwell of Richmond, VA, sisters: Desiree Dennis, Cierra Dennis, Kelly Washington and Michelle Washington all of Richmond, VA; his loving “Nanny”, Francine Wiggins, maternal Grandfather, Lonnie Lewis both of Richmond, Virginia. Paternal Grandmother, Sarah Dennis of Baltimore, MD and Paternal Grandfather Rutledge Dennis of Richmond, VA; 3 devoted friends: Martin Smith, Jr, Jimmy Adams and Rasean Martin. 1 devoted cousin: DeQuan Saunders and a host of devoted aunts, great aunts, uncles, great uncles, cousins and friends.
Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where Shay Joshua Dennis can be viewed Monday, March 7, 2022, from 12PM to 8PM. Funeral services will be private.
