William "Cook" Wheless

William Wheless, age 66, of Richmond, departed this life May 9, 2019. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ida Francis Staples and brothers, Leroy Simmons and James E. Wheless. He is survived by his wife, Denise Wheless; two sisters, Patsy Anderson (Herbert) and Sally Wilson (Quinton); three brothers, Earl Silver (Alice), Thomas Wheless (Delores) and a devoted brother, Robert Lee Wheless; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; a sister-in-law, Virginia Wheles; and other relatives and friends, among them two goddaughters, Latifah “Jeba” Thornton, Shaqueenia Amust; and his loving and devoted companion, Josephine Lightfoot. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue, where funeral services will be held Thursday, at 1 p.m. Interment private. Family and friends assemble at the funeral home 12:45 p.m. Thursday.
