Ethel "Cookie" Jean Cooley

Ethel J. “Cookie” Cooley moved to her heavenly home November 14th, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, James “Cliff” and Lillie Shelton Cooley; her sister, Robnette C. Taylor and brother, James Cooley Jr. She is survived by three sisters, Marian Saunders, Doris Guy(Earl Sr.) and Edith Cooley Scott(Elton Jr.), who was also her devoted caregiver; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; and other relatives and friends among them her St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church family. She graduated from the Maggie L. Walker High School, class of 1967. She retired from Verizon. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue where the family will receive friends Friday from 6:30PM to 7:30PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday  12 noon at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, 2712 Second Avenue. In lieu of flowers, the family requests  that any donations be made to St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church or the charity of your choice.
